Description: Food Service Director – The West River Center- West River, MD
This position is a year-round, full-time, salaried, exempt position with benefits.
The Food Service Director provides oversight of the West River food service operations including meal service, staffing, scheduling, menu planning, ordering, staff training and finances. They serve as the head chef for the majority of meals and must ensure the food service operations meet all state and local regulations. Must be able to prepare and serve nutritious and delicious meals for up to 300 people and accommodate special dietary needs. Must be at least 21 years old with three years experience in food service management, ideally in a camp and retreat center setting. Must have SERVSAFE certification or equivalent or be willing and able to achieve this within a specified time frame after hire.
Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screening due to our work with children.
The West River Center is a 220-bed camp and retreat center with a mile of waterfront along the West River south of Annapolis, MD. We operate day and residential summer camps and host a wide variety of retreat groups throughout the rest of the year. We are a ministry of the Baltimore-Washington Conference of the United Methodist Church.
