Weddings are a celebration of love and commitment and every year couples are struggling with the ever-growing wedding industry. Between the venue, cake, dress, catering, etc. weddings are quite an expensive ordeal. A new trend in wedding planning sites has been to reach out to camps as wedding venues. Twinlow Camp in North Idaho started hosting weddings at Twinlow since Summer 2014 and we have grown from 2 weddings that first summer to 11 this past year. It is my guess that most sites shy away from this ministry due to a few factors, the top two being: 1. 2. Not feeling it fits in our ministry calling. Not wanting to deal with brides and the stress of weddings. It is my hope that this workshop can address these two hesitancies and more about hosting weddings at your site. Marriage is a holy union between two people and God, so how could the beginning and celebration of that union not fall in our ministry calling? Furthermore, having hosted over 20 weddings I have this to say about brides: they are usually lovely… their parents can cause some problems. This workshop will focus on starting hosting weddings, marketing your site, tips and tricks we have learned over the years, and more
