There are times when a site needs an Interim Director in order to create time and space to determine the needs of the site, create an accurate job description, and conduct the most fruitful search for the permanent Director. Some of the questions that will be answered during this class will be: -What are the steps in determining the need for an interim? -What ar the roles of the Executive Director, the Board, Search Committee, and staff during the interim process and the search for the permanent director? – How do grief, anger, and disappointment effect this crucial period of transition, nd how can they be engaged in a positive way? -Is the Interim needed as a placeholder, a change agent, a consultant, or all three? -What are the areas of potential conflict, and how can confusion of roles and expectations be avoided as much as possible?
