Responsible to: Executive Director

Primary Functions:

• Act in accord with Alta Mons' mission and its relationship with the Valley Ridge District of the United Methodist Church.

• Establish high quality programs for guests within the strategic goals and objectives of Alta Mons.

• Build strong relationships with relevant stakeholders to include guests, organizations, congregations and surrounding communities.

• Serve as the onsite executive in the absence of the Executive Director.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

• Program Development -- Collaborates with executive leadership in the marketing and design of quality programs that are relevant to Alta Mons' strategy and annual goals/objectives.

• Production Risk Management -- Insures site operations meet relevant guidelines for the health, wellness, and safety of staff and guests. Participates in the implementation of best practices to assure a safe and welcoming experience for all Alta Mons guests.

• Program Services Delivery -- Assures the effective delivery and quality of programs by managing resources, staff, and volunteers in specific and coordinated events to best meet prescribed outcomes.

• Financial Management -- Collaborates in developing yearly budget for Board approval and prudently manages Alta Mons’ resources within those budget guidelines according to current laws and regulations.

• Human Resource Management -- Effectively recruits and manages the paid and volunteer program human resources of Alta Mons according to authorized personnel policies and procedures.

• Community and Public Relations -- Effectively promotes Alta Mons mission, programs and services by consistently presenting them in a strong, positive image to relevant stakeholders.

• Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and self-motivation.

• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders and collaborate across these groups to achieve desired outcomes.

• Demonstrated experience in youth, adult and family ministry, program development and implementation in a Christian environment.

• Demonstrated experience with group camping, small group development, summer camp organization, programming and administration.

• Demonstrated experience with the recruitment and management of volunteers and paid staff.

• Demonstrated ability to manage program services, such as high and low ropes courses, and assure compliance with applicable health and safety laws, regulations and procedures.

• Strong verbal and written communications skills.

• Demonstrated computer skills and working knowledge of office software such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint.

• Good physical condition with ability to lift, carry and manipulate objects weighing 50 pounds or more.

• Emotional maturity with ability to multi-task in multiple locations with a variety of people.

• Clean driving record.

• Never convicted of a felony.
