Job Summary: The Luccock Park Camp Director plans, directs, and supervises all camp operations and staff onsite at Luccock Park Camp to ensure the camping experience is positive and renewing for all camp groups. The Camp Director promotes the camp year-round, schedules and contracts camps and other events, markets the camp and advertises fund raising efforts in cooperation with the Board of Trustees. Luccock Park Camp is a sacred space and a ministry established as a place for spiritual growth, renewal and solace, and this purpose must be supported by the Camp Director in cooperation with the Board of Trustees.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Expectations: 1. Meet, uphold and exceed the Luccock Park Camp mission statement: “At Luccock, our mission is to be a safe sanctuary of Christian hospitality, renewal, and learning within God’s natural world.” 2. Extend hospitality to all participants and groups on arrival and throughout their stay. Orient camp groups and maintain a supportive environment. 3. Be onsite when camps are in session. Keep 24-hour availability for emergency contact regarding camp. 4. Keep a basic understanding of all camp vehicles and equipment operation. 5. Follow and refine the camp operation manual. 6. Express strong ability operating computers, technology and all Microsoft programs. 7. Cooperate with Fish, Wildlife and Parks, Forest Service, state campground and private landowners. 8. Regularly record and report employee work hours and vendor expenses to Luccock Board Treasurer and Bookkeeper. 9. Coordinate with the Board of Trustees’ Facilities Committee on maintenance activities and expenditures (approval required for expenses above $500). 10. Perform maintenance duties and general camp upkeep. Coordinate with professionals for onsite services. 11. Coordinate with all Luccock Board of Trustees committees. 12. Manage camp costs and vendor accounts. Issue timely reports to the Board of Trustees’ Bookkeeper and Treasurer. 13. Publicize, schedule, and contract camp use up to two years in advance. 14. Plan and coordinate maximum use of camp facilities. 15. Fund raise in collaboration with the Board of Trustees. 16. Report and keep records of donations, payments, expenses and other financial transactions. 17. Understand and manage waterways in and above camp. 18. Oversee all supply and food orders. 19. Stock and ensure operation of Camp Canteen. 20. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Supervisory Duties (if applicable): 1. Direct volunteer individuals and teams. 2. Supervise operations staff including daily oversight of kitchen, cleaning, grounds and maintenance teams. Manage subordinates as outlined in the supervisory duties below. 3. Direct, coordinate with and evaluate staff, including daily operations; meal planning, preparation and service; ordering food and maintenance supplies; cleaning cabins, restrooms and common buildings; and grounds maintenance. 4. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. 5. Plan and direct work, ensuring that work schedules are followed. Assign specific duties to subordinate staff. 6. In cooperation with the Luccock Camp Board of Trustees, interview, hire and train employees. Conduct staff evaluations, job performance management (including coaching/counseling) and corrective action. 7. Ensure appropriate staff training and education programs are provided. Schedule and conduct regular [weekly] staff meetings. 8. Demonstrate effective team management toward achievement of goals, including appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Minimum Qualifications (Through Experience and/or Education): 1. Experience and passion congruent with promoting a Christian, faith-based camp. 2. Experience working with children, family groups, reunions, camps and/or weddings. 3. At least one year of direct work experience managing facilities and personnel including food service, maintenance, safety and emergency procedures and record keeping. 4. Current Safe Gatherings background check and training. 5. Current CPR/First Aid training. 6. Current driver’s license and ability to drive camp vehicles. 7. Eligible to work in the United States. 8. Able and willing to support staff in kitchen, grounds and cleaning as needed. 9. Experience with church camping; outdoors environment preferred. 10. Bookkeeping experience. 11. Experience in marketing a facility and selling the use of the facility. 12. Fund raising experience.

Competencies or Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s): 1. Skills in conflict mitigation and mediation. 2. Analytical skills; able to solve problems of varying intensity as they arise with creativity, flexibility and calmness. 3. Intermediate planning and scheduling skills. 4. Strong computer and technical skills, including website and social media skills. 5. Expert oral and written communication skills with people of all ages and demographics in and out of camp. 6. Skill in handling sensitive issues while remaining respectful of confidentiality. 7. Skill in initiating and maintaining relationships to enhance workflow and working relationships inside and outside of Luccock Park Camp. 8. Skill incorporating camping values and needs when making decisions that have significant implications for the management and operation of the organization (in cooperation with the Luccock Board of Trustees). 9. Competence in utilizing office equipment. 10. Expert ability to work within budget parameters. 11. Expert scheduling and time management skills.

Pay and Benefits: 1. Salary depends on experience 2. 2-bedroom cabin with full room and board for the Director and one other for the summer camping season
