You’re busy – and so is everyone else. The average American’s attention span is less than that of a goldfish. I’m not sure if it’s the animal or the cracker but either way we’re in trouble. To save time and energy, we assume something is irrelevant unless proven otherwise – and the clock’s ticking fast. Occasionally, folks let their guard down long enough to read or listen to a whopping sentence or two. When that happens, we need our elevator pitch ready: short and simple phrasing that establishes the relevance and unique value of what we offer. Led by a camp communications nerd who’s spent a decade trying to figure this out and may finally be onto something, this workshop will include: 1) key concepts to consider for your elevator pitch; 2) expert resources that will catalyze your storytelling process; 3) facilitated breakout time to pitch and tweak and pitch again among friends. A powerful elevator pitch – and the understanding gained through arriving at it – will help you make the most of every conversation and written communication you have about your camp. It’s tempting to think if we just communicate more often, we’ll get better results…when what’s more often the case is we’re communicating plenty – we’re just not using the right words yet. Bring your best pitch and let’s take some intentional steps down that path.
