The mission of Camp Highroad is to be an outdoor ministry set apart to serve, grow and renew all who visit.

 

Our Vision is to create expansive and enriching year-round experiences for people of all ages.  This vision is anchored in Christianity and supported by a fully equipped staff and engaged community, operating with updated, sustainable systems and facilities. Camp Highroad is a ministry of the United Methodist Church.

 

The Program and Support Staff positions provide Camp Highroad part time and seasonal assistance with the delivery of programs and activities.  The Program and Support Staff reports to a Team Leader or a Full-Time staff member to deliver structured outdoor adventure programs, provide hospitality and food services to our guest. 

 

Qualifications:

  1. An active faith in Jesus Christ and a desire to see all come to know and grow in Him.
  2. Experience with outdoor adventure activities, i.e. challenge courses, high ropes, zip line, rock climbing, canoeing, archery, mountain boarding, horseback riding, and other similar activities desired but not required.
  3. Experience in food service and hospitality, with a fast-food, sit-down restaurant, hotel or conference facility desired but not required.
  4. Eagerness to learn, grow and to progress to more complex work assignments.
  5. Strong interpersonal and communications skills with a strong desire to be a part of a team.
  6. Physically able to handle the demands and rigors of a schedule and responsibilities that can result in long and demanding days.
  7. Ability to follow guidelines for safety, health and safe serve food service standards.
  8. Willingness to work evenings and weekends.

 

General Responsibilities:

  1. Work with a team leader or full-time staff to deliver programs, following disciplined training and safety objectives.
  2. Work with children, youth and adults to achieve objectives of the program and activity.
  3. Set up and clean-up of program and activity equipment.
  4. Food service support to include, preparing, serving and cleaning.
  5. Facility clean-up of lodges, cabins and common areas to include, vacuuming, sweeping, sanitation wipe down, window cleaning, and mopping.
  6. Support Camp Highroad facilities manager with general maintenance and care of facilities and grounds.

  1. Part time position for seasonal support.
