The Day Camp Manager serves as the lead for all Day Camp programs. In partnership with the Program Manager, they are responsible for developing a comprehensive, overarching vision and strategy for several programs during the school year and summer for elementary-aged youth. They will oversee the creation, design, and management of all on-site program offerings during the school year. During the summer, they will oversee the creation, design, and management of the on-site day camp program. They will recruit and hire their own on-site program team for their programs.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a related field.

Creative and innovative thinker. An individual who dwells in possibility. A highly relational individual can connect with people from all backgrounds and all generations. Ability to build a cohesive team. 

Demonstrate excellence in organizational, administrative, and managerial skills – the ability to conceive, take initiative, and manage several tasks at one time. 

Ability to effectively supervise a diverse group of individuals. Strong coaching, teaching, and training skills. Direct communicator. 

Worship and music skills are highly desirable.

Rock climbing and lifeguard certification, or the ability to become certified, is strongly desired. 

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 

Ability to model and encourage an inclusive environment for staff and campers. 

Comfortable with social media marketing.

At least 21 years of age.

Good driving record. 

Previous camp or childcare experience.

 

Responsibilities

Summer Day Camp

Provide a safe and high-quality summer-long camp experience

Plan and implement summer curriculum

Create new opportunities for engagement each week for returning campers

Communicate with camper families

Create engagement with camper families outside of the day camp program

Work with the Program Manager to create pipelines from Day Camp to Overnight Campers

Coordinate with all other camp staff to utilize spaces and supplies

Attend camp staff meetings

Train and Supervise On-Site Day Camp Leaders

Assist in Summer Programs as needed and able

Before and After School Camp (Mon-Fri)

Communicate with families and campers all the necessary information

Provide safe and quality programming

Coordinate with Spirit Lake School for transportation

Manage Registrations

Schedule and supervise all staff

Plan and implement activities

Create a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all campers and staff

Maintain health and safety supplies and policies

Maintain the facility and supplies needed for programming

Work with property and program staff to ensure spaces are ready for programs

Sprouts Camp (Mondays)

Communicate with families and campers all the necessary information

Provide safe and quality programming

Provide unique, educational, and outdoor recreational experiences to keep campers engaged throughout the school year.

Manage Registrations

Schedule and supervise all staff

Plan and implement activities

Create a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all campers and staff

Maintain health and safety supplies and policies

Maintain the facility and supplies needed for programming

Work with property and program staff to ensure spaces are ready for programs

Personnel

Recruit, train, and supervise staff for all school-year programs

Maintain accurate records

Enforce all personnel policies through the supervision of staff

Administrative

Provide a budget request for all programs

Monitor spending and stay within budget

Maintain accurate records of all campers, families, payments, registrations, and communications.

Participate in and ensure the implementation of LLC's strategic and master planning 

Write and update policies for LLC as needed in partnership with other LLC staff

Attend conferences and classes, or similar events, to continue learning and growing professionally

Salary Range/Compensation Package:  $26,000-$31,000, Comprehensive health coverage, Retirement contribution, Generous PTO and holidays, Optional Onsite Housing, Opportunities for continuing education and professional development
