St. Dorothy’s Rest, a 125‑year‑old Episcopal camp and retreat center rooted in healing, hospitality, and outdoor ministry, is seeking a mission‑driven Executive Director to lead the organization into its next chapter of revitalization and growth.

The Executive Director oversees year‑round operations, staff leadership, fundraising, community partnerships, and the stewardship of a legacy of rest and renewal. This role requires a seasoned nonprofit leader with strong skills in personnel management, donor engagement, financial oversight, and relationship‑building across diverse communities. Experience in camp or retreat ministry, youth‑centered programming, and working within Episcopal or similar faith‑based structures is strongly preferred.

The ideal candidate is an emotionally intelligent communicator, a collaborative team builder, and a passionate advocate for equity, inclusion, and belonging. They will guide St. Dorothy’s through upcoming capital projects, strengthen partnerships with diocesan and community leaders, and serve as a visible ambassador for this beloved place of rest.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred

Proven success in nonprofit administration, board collaboration, fundraising and team leadership

Previous experience intentionally incorporating anti-racism and anti-patriarchal principles in organizational leadership and programs

3-5 years of experience as an Executive Director of a camp & retreat/conference center

Comfortable and familiar working within the Episcopal Church environment, or other denomination at the institutional level

Schedule: Full‑time, includes some weekends and regional travel.

Salary Range/Compensation Package:  $80,000–$90,000 plus benefits (medical, dental, life, disability, retirement match). On‑site housing available.
