Ten students and 4 faculty members spent an intensive week February 18-23 immersed in all things Methodist, from polity and camp history to hymns and the Wesleyan Quadrilateral, John Wesley's understanding of grace, and the Seven Foundations of UMC Camp & Retreat Ministry. Hosted at beautiful Asbury Hills Camp and Retreat Center in Cleveland, SC, the experience built collegial relationships among UMC camp and retreat leaders from across the country and provided a United Methodist perspective on topics such as Creation formation, worship, fundraising, and more. Offered every other year, Immersion provides UM-specific content to complement the ecumenical education offered through the Compass Points Certificate program.
