Community Conversations
Join UMCRM community members and friends for Zoom conversation on Camp/Retreat Ministry topics -- all are welcome.

UMCRM Community Conversations are a free, regular, virtual opportunity to connect and learn together around topics that matter to United Methodist Camp & Retreat Ministry leaders.

Wednesday, October 22nd: "Summer Staff Impact Study Results" with Dr. Jake Sorenson of Sacred Playgrounds

How does working at camp shape a young adult’s faith, leadership, and sense of calling? This summer, UMCRM partnered with Sacred Playgrounds to find out. United Methodist sites across the country participated in our first-ever Summer Staff Impact Study, surveying hundreds of seasonal staff to measure how their camp experience influences spiritual growth, leadership development, and career discernment.

In next week's Community Conversation, researcher Dr. Jake Sorenson will share the results of the study, highlighting key trends across our network and revealing what makes camp such a powerful space for forming leaders. You’ll also learn how your site can use this data to strengthen staff recruitment, training, and retention efforts.

Join us next Wednesday to explore the data, celebrate the stories, and imagine what’s next for UMCRM camps and the young adults who serve them.
